Emily & Adam | Golden Summer Engagement Session | Brooklyn, NY

Emily was scrolling Instagram one day when she saw a behind-the-scenes snap from a photo shoot I collaborated on with Butter & Scotch, the feminist Brooklyn based bar and bakery, and Willowhouse Beauty, who she had already been considering hiring for her wedding day. Although I hadn’t taken that particular photo, social media led her to me! After she reached out, she, her fiancé, Adam, and I hit it off over beers, and they booked me for their January wedding.

These two have the most loving relationship, with lots of laughing. The three of us spent an hour strolling the park, wandering over by the Brooklyn Public Library, and then jumping on the subway to head home (we only live a block apart!). Congrats on your engagement, Emily & Adam! Can’t wait for your winter wedding at Dumbo Loft.

Caitlin & Tom | Riverwalk Couples Session | St. Paul, Minnesota

In late July I traveled to the Twin Cities for the first time to attend a leadership retreat. While visiting, I was introduced to a friend of a friend and we set up a last minute session along the Mississippi River!

Caitlin, a talented photographer herself, her husband Tom, their two dogs, Ava & Oscar, and I took a walk by the river and snapped some fun summer photos.

Sara & Kelly | Rock'n'Roll Rooftop Wedding | Queens, NY

Welcome to the Sara and Kelly show!

These rock’n’rollers threw a wedding like I’ve never seen before. They laughed, they sang, they danced the night away. It was quite the summer celebration of love and music!

The couple started the day off getting ready at a nearby Queens hotel, followed by a super sweet first look and portraits in Flushing Meadows–Corona Park on a hot day in June. When it was time for their rooftop ceremony, the whole wedding party wore sunglasses! The musical couple performed “Big Me” by the Foo Fighters in place of a first dance. Their centerpieces were mini models of the nearby Unisphere made entirely of guitar strings. They had some of their engagement photos on display too! Every last detail was thought out to fit their theatrical theme and personalities and it was all SO MUCH FUN.

Wishing a lifetime of congratulations and happiness to the new Mr. & Mrs. Riley on their marriage and future adventures together!

Happy Birthday, Central Park | Manhattan Engagements, Elopements, & Micro Weddings

Central Park is the most magical place in New York City. After living here for five years, there are many corners even I still haven’t discovered. It’s easy to get lost wandering the winding paths, and even easier to completely forget you’re in the middle of the biggest, most bustling city in the world.

It’s the perfect backdrop for a photo session too, with so many beautifully different locations in every season. See some of my favorite highlights from engagements, elopements, and weddings in Manhattan’s iconic Central Park.
