Nikki and Kevin flew in from Los Angeles for their New York City wedding to get married in the same beautiful church where her parents were married years before. I was so touched by the sweet sentiment behind their decision. It was immediately easy to see why they chose this bright, gorgeous setting for their closest friends and family to witness their intimate ceremony. Once Nikki and Kevin were pronounced husband and wife, we took some family portraits in the pretty garden at All Souls Church before heading to iconic Central Park with the wedding party.
Karina & Tom | One Year Later
It's crazy to think an entire year has passed since Karina and Tom said "I Do"! May 22, 2016 was a perfect day. The bride, groom, and their families all pitched in to make this Sunday evening, DIY wedding one they would always remember.
Maid of Honor, twin sister of the bride, Maria, did her beautiful makeup. Maria's boyfriend (now fiancé, congrats!), Brooklyn artist, Erik Jones, performed their ceremony. The mother of the bride cooked tamales for all the guests. Many other family members took time to assemble their flowers that morning. All to make it the most beautiful celebration of love for these newlyweds.
My favorite part about Karina and Tom's wedding day was how simple they wanted to keep everything. The whole day really was all about celebrating their love and new lives together. This truly reflected who they are as a couple.
Congratulations Karina & Tom! Happy one year anniversary!

Galaxy Styled Wedding Inspiration | Brooklyn, NY
"It's bigger than love, brighter than all the stars combined." - Ben Gibbard
This past summer, I was looking through Instagram and felt inspired to put together a styled shoot after seeing photo after photo featuring the most beautiful shades of purple and blue. Celestial colors and imagery has always been appealing to me, I even got a telescope as a birthday gift many years ago!
A few weeks later, I began reaching out to other vendors both in NYC and across the country. My good friend and previous collaborator, Ashley, of Le Petit Prints, and I were bouncing ideas and inspiration back and forth when it all started to come together.
The overall vision for the shoot was a modern galaxy themed wedding, but I wanted each vendor to be able to use their own creativity and artistic ideas. We wanted to keep it simple, with trendy, but offbeat twists. Our tattooed "bride" skipped the traditional white gown for a sleek navy number. Our baker opted for cupcakes instead of classic wedding cake. Our jeweler created customized pieces just for us. Our florist went for a very unique interpretation with her wild arrangement.
I am infinitely grateful to the amazing team behind this shoot! It couldn't have come together better than it did. Thank you all for your contributions, collaboration, patience and for bringing my idea to life. See how it all turned out below!

Kristin & Daniel | NYC Engagement Session | New York, NY
Years ago, I met Kristin while working at Disneyland. When she and her fiancé, Daniel, booked their very first visit to New York City, she contacted me right away to plan their engagement session. Although he had proposed a year before, they had been holding off on having engagement photos taken, waiting for something truly unique for them. What could be more iconic than Central Park after a snowstorm and a view of the skyline?! We broke their session up into two days because NYC was experiencing a deep freeze their first weekend here. Coming from year-round perfect weather in Southern California, they were such troopers in the cold! A few days later the temperature shot up to the 50s when we visited Top of the Rock for part two! You just never know what to expect in the Northeast.
When they were in sixth grade, Daniel gave Kristin a Valentine that she ended up throwing in the trash! Daniel was heartbroken when he saw it there later, but she eventually decided to give him a chance and 14 YEARS later, the rest is history! Capturing the goofy, fun, spirited love these two share was the perfect way to start 2017 and will remain a highlight. I am so happy and excited for their future. Congratulations!
