Galaxy Styled Wedding Inspiration | Brooklyn, NY

"It's bigger than love, brighter than all the stars combined." - Ben Gibbard

This past summer, I was looking through Instagram and felt inspired to put together a styled shoot after seeing photo after photo featuring the most beautiful shades of purple and blue. Celestial colors and imagery has always been appealing to me, I even got a telescope as a birthday gift many years ago!

A few weeks later, I began reaching out to other vendors both in NYC and across the country. My good friend and previous collaborator, Ashley, of Le Petit Prints, and I were bouncing ideas and inspiration back and forth when it all started to come together.

The overall vision for the shoot was a modern galaxy themed wedding, but I wanted each vendor to be able to use their own creativity and artistic ideas. We wanted to keep it simple, with trendy, but offbeat twists. Our tattooed "bride" skipped the traditional white gown for a sleek navy number. Our baker opted for cupcakes instead of classic wedding cake. Our jeweler created customized pieces just for us. Our florist went for a very unique interpretation with her wild arrangement.

I am infinitely grateful to the amazing team behind this shoot! It couldn't have come together better than it did. Thank you all for your contributions, collaboration, patience and for bringing my idea to life.  See how it all turned out below!

Emma & Connor | Clark's Landing Wedding | Point Pleasant, NJ

"There may be something there that wasn't there before." - Beauty and the Beast

You may remember Emma and Connor from their midtown Manhattan engagement session this past spring. We spent an amazing, chilly afternoon exploring the city streets near their studio apartment. (Read about how they met unexpectedly and see their photos here!

Fast forward to the Friday before Thanksgiving 2016, just as the sun began to set, when they became husband and wife. Over the last five years their closest friends and family members from coast to coast have surrounded, supported, and celebrated them. On November 18th, they all came together to share in the love of one of the happiest, most wonderful couples I have ever known. It was such an honor to witness and capture all the special moments throughout their romantic, glamorous wedding day, with just a touch of Disney magic.

"Please, be our guest!" - Beauty and the Beast

There were so many stunning details which made Emma and Connor's wedding unique. They shared many laughs during their sunset unity sand ceremony. Cocktail hour featured an ice sculpture of the Enchanted Rose, along with themed signature drinks. One of the best men played guitar and sang Ed Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud" during their first dance. The most special detail was how much love you could feel!

Emma and Connor are meant to be. She is the Beauty to his Beast, he is all the books in her library. Congratulations to this happy couple!

Amanda & Aaron | Labor Day Weekend Wedding | Lake Sunapee, NH

On September 3, 2016, Amanda and Aaron shared vows that had been over ten years in the making! They have been writing their love story for over a decade. Together, they celebrated with an intimate ceremony at Amanda's aunt's lake house with family and close friends.

My favorite part of the day was hearing Maid of Honor, the bride's sister, Sara, share stories of their childhood. She talked about everything from Troll dolls to literally drawing a line down the center of their bedroom declaring which side belonged to each of them! Most importantly, during Sara's speech, she spoke about the match her sister, who grew up to be her best friend, had found in Aaron. It was so touching getting to witness all the joy and love between these two women, the bride and groom, and both their families in coming together.

See photos from their beautiful day below! Don't forget to "spread the love"!

Doria & Cory | Van Cortlandt Lakehouse Wedding | Bronx, NY

This past winter, on a cold afternoon, Doria and Cory came to the midtown bar I work at for a drink. We chatted about this and that; they were lovely! At one point, Cory asked me what the name of the song playing was. He explained they had recently gotten engaged and were in search of the perfect wedding song! He went on to tell me the pair had dated 25 years before, but life had taken them in different directions. All these years later, they reconnected and now were finally getting married - you can't stop true love! Isn't that just the most amazing story?!

While I don't recall what the song was, I do recall congratulating them, wishing them all the best and giving them my card before they left in case they were in search of a photographer!

Several months later, an email from the bride-to-be popped up in my inbox about their July wedding. It was wonderful to hear from her! We had a great phone call and that was that!

Their engagement session was in the beautiful Fort Tryon park in Washington Heights, Manhattan. We had an amazing time capturing images which would be featured at the wedding as part of their guestbook and seating arrangements.

Sunday, July 24th was the day of Doria and Cory's gorgeous wedding. It was a scorcher, but I never saw them sweat! It was the most beautiful ceremony outside of the Van Cortlandt Golf Lake House with a cocktail hour on the deck, and dinner and dancing in the ballroom. They were surrounded by friends and family who told tear-jerking stories of their love.

It was truly an honor to photograph such wonderful people (and two stunning wedding gowns)! Congratulations to the happy couple, Doria and Cory, and their families!
